GATE has successfully been presented
at the ION Technical Meeting in Long Beach, CA / USA from 13 to 16
September 2005. Many interested attendees took the opportunity to visit
the Satellitenavigation in Bavaria booth in the exhibition area. The
paper of the presentation ('An Experimental Multi Band Receiver for the
German Galileo Test Environment - GATE') is now available for download
on the PUBLICATIONS area.

at the Munich Satellite Navigation Summit 2006
from
21 to 23 February 2006.
Many interested attendees took the
opportunity to visit the IfEN booth in the exhibition area and took
part in the GATE excursion on February 24, 2006.

At the CeBIT 2006 GATE has been
presented with a booth in the Galileo SatNav area as well as in the
frame of the "Galileo Special" expert talk on 14 March 2006.

Prince Philip visits GATE booth during
ENE 2006 in Manchester
Represented by the Institute of Geodesy and Navigation of the
University FAF Munich and the IfEN GmbH, the GATE consortium presented
the current project status during the European Navigation Exhibition
2006 (ENE 2006) which took place from May, 8th-10th in Manchester.
In the course of the European Navigation Conference (ENC 2006),
the conference delegates have been informed about various aspects of
the German Galileo Test and Development Environment in the form of a
well attended presentation.
Both events were officially opened by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
and patron of the Royal Institute of Navigation. During a tour across
the exhibition area, Prince Philip also visited the GATE booth.

A three-dimensional model of the GATE
test area has been put up for exhibition at the Nationalpark
information centre in Berchtesgaden as a loan by IfEN GmbH.
The model provides an overview of the transmitter positions as well as
the enclosed test area. A Chinese delegation that was visiting the GATE
site attended the official handover of the model at the Nationalpark
information centre.

The installation of the GATE equipment
in the testbed area has started. On September 6th the container which
is going to accommodate the transmit station on the Gruen-stein was set
up close to the mountain top. You can find several pictures of the
heli-copter transport and the mounting of the container in the Gallery

At the location Hochthron/Stöhraus the
first GATE transmit station was recently installed and successfully
tested. Further stations are going to be established successively
within the next few weeks.

GATE was presented at the CJD-Meeting
2006 ("Hirsauer Tage 2006", Hintersee Berchtesgadener Land),
21.09.2006.
